Pastor Candy West, is the vibrant and powerful Senior Pastor of Convergence Worship Center (CWC). Affectionately known as “PC”,  Pastor Candy is a Dallas, Texas native. She started her walk with God through worship in song as an artist. “Candy West” is known, across the globe, for her 20+ years in the music industry with over 50+ albums that have her vocal imprint, including her widely known single: “Watch God Work It Out!” Many of those albums have gone on to win several Stellar & Grammy awards, including the work she did with Kirk Franklin & God’s Property.  Although music has been her passion for so many years, it was her endless love for God and dedication to the call on her life that shifted her into this pastoral phase of ministry.

 

With obedience being her guide, Pastor Candy West started preaching 15 years ago. She has always felt a heavy mandate in worship which revealed her call to preach the gospel. When asked, when did she know she was called into ministry, PC said: “I realized I was called to preach in my early 20’s. As I would lead songs, people would often tell me that I “preach” when I sing. It didn’t truly dawn on me until then. My love for the word of God, my devotion and study time began to seep into my singing.” PC has been preaching since 2007, where her first sermon was given in Dayton, Ohio. 

 

Pastor Candy has been honored to sit under a myriad of powerful teachers and glean from them whether up close and personal or from a distance. While thousands of people from around the world know her from the many years she served under Bishop T.D. Jakes, at The Potter’s House of Dallas, she has also amassed great ministerial wisdom and biblical insight from many diverse evangelicals across the globe. Those influences are Dr. Juanita Bynum, Bishop Jackie McCullough, Evangelist Joyce Rodgers, Apostle Tina Williams, Bishop Van Moody and more. Additionally, she will always give credit to her most personal & spiritual mentors in the person(s) of Rose McKinney, her Godmother and Apostle Brandon J. Clack, her pastor. Although it was a steady journey that led her to being Lead Pastor of a church, it started with her yes to God. Once she fully embraced the call on her life beyond being a singer and an artist, things in her life began to line up with the call.

Subsequent to giving her “YES” to God, Pastor Candy West began to activate all of her diverse giftings and anointings which birthed out a convergence of releases. Pastor Candy West walks courageously in her assignment as Pastor, while also operating as CEO of Candy West Enterprises, Uptown Orchid Boutique, author of her most recent book: “Work The Wait: Being Productive While Waiting On The Promises of God”, and founder of her non-profit organization, C.R. West Wellness (named after her most beloved father, the late Calvin West, Jr). She also ascertained her license/certification as a Life Coach & Mentor to help develop and cultivate women to live their lives with purpose and clarity. As a pastor and serial-preneur, Pastor Candy West continues to follow God’s plan for her life while living fearlessly in the duality of her God-given assignment in the Earth. 

 

While a woman of many accomplishments and accolades, she holds her love for family as the top prize. Mother of 1 son, sister to 3 siblings and beloved daughter to her mother, Tommye Young West and the late Calvin R. West Jr., are all titles that paved the way for her to be developed into the woman she is today. Pastor Candy thrives off of the surety of God and His covering as she continues to lead His people in WORSHIP through the WORD. 

 

Convergence Worship Center is HOME!  It is Pastor Candy West’s desire to not only make a global impact but to be a leader that helps people grow spiritually and naturally. Her ultimate goal for the future is to leverage her influence and God-ordained resources to see impact and change within the church and in the community through purposeful initiatives. She has a standard of living that has yielded her endless fruit with God: “SEE IT, BELIEVE IT, BECOME IT!” Pastor Candy sincerely believes that if you journey with God and live by these principles, manifestation of purpose and placement is inevitable.
